The IBSC is excited to announce that Research Review Day will occur December 13th – 14th, 2023! We look forward to welcoming the External Advisory Board (EAB) members for our IRACDA, CIRM, and T32 Training Programs for a fantastic two-day event listening to research presentations from our twenty (20) non-first-year Trainees, as well as Career Development Talks from our EAB members. The IBSC Leadership thanks all Trainees, Mentors, and the EAB in advance of this event for their valuable feedback and discussions as part of our annual Programmatic Evaluation and revision.

RRD 2023 Schedule

Please find the detailed schedule below for RRD 2023. Speaker(s) for each respective slot are shown below the time indicated. All Trainee Research Presentations are 15 minutes long. As such, we recommend Trainee Presentations be ~10-12 minutes long to allow for 2-3 questions.

To help minimize IT and A/V issues that may impact presentations, a Zoom meeting will be hosted which all presenters can then connect to. This will enable all Trainees to utilize their own computer without any concern for hooking up to A/V equipment. A Zoom link will be provided to all presenting Trainees in advance of December 13th.

If you have any questions, please contact the IBSC.

RRD 2023 Transportation and Parking

Parking at the Seymour Marine Center will be provided on Wednesday, December 13th. Two (2) parking lot attendants will be present to issue parking permits for the day. There is no cost to any Trainees, Faculty, or EAB members. To help minimize environmental impact and parking issues, we highly recommend carpooling to the Seymour Center. A shared Google Carpooling Sheet has been provided to facilitate communication between all Trainees and Mentors. If you do not have access to the sheet, please contact the IBSC. As Day 2 of RRD will occur on-campus within the Biomedical Sciences Building, parking will only be provided for visiting EAB members.

RRD 2023 Start Time

Both days of Research Review Day will begin promptly at 9:00am. A light continental breakfast and coffee will be provided for all Trainees, Mentors, and EAB members each day from 8:30am – 9:00am.

RRD 2023 Breakout Sessions

The latter part of Day 2 will consist of several breakout sessions to facilitate External Advisory Board members to meet with Trainees and Mentors from each program and discuss Annual Program Evaluations with IBSC Leadership. Breakout sessions will occur in BIOMED300 and BIOMED360 (3rd floor conference room at the end of the hall). Please note the Trainee or Mentor breakout session and time indicated for your specific Training Program.

Please note: There will be no T32 breakout session, as such all T32 Trainees will be dismissed following lunch.
