What constitutes “auditing” a course as a Postdoc?

  1. The purpose of auditing coursework is to provide you with additional training and skills to enable you to move to the next stage of your career; be competitive in grant applications; and more. Attending the course without comprehending the material provides little career development benefit.
  2. Auditing a REQUIRED course as a Postdoctoral fellow should be thought of as formally taking AND PASSING a course, but without the requirement to be formally enrolled.
  3. Audited courses must still be attended; completed; and passed on a PASS/FAIL BASIS.
